Battle For Gaia Report:
Ok, back to SEWA for some cool action. Not better than last time, but hey – how could they do better without any more Seph vs. Genesis matches? Still it was a good show, with some awesome matches.
1. The Turks d. The Crimson Squad via pin (Super Turk Driver on Baralai). Standart action, but again, we got an upset from the Turks. Guess they’re pushing them for the titles. Nothing wrong with that, I mark any-fucking-time somebody decides to give Reno a title.
2. In a SEWA vs. WIW match, The Remnants beat Rems Willmor (I think) & Lucky Jimmy via pin (Dual Horn piledriver on Jimmy). Well, it was good. Rems blind tagged himself in and stayed I the ring thru the whole match, refusing to tag to Jimmy. Clearly they’re a thrown togheter team and that’s just fucking dissapointing. If you’re gonna go against Loz ‘n Yazoo, you need a fucking team, not just two guys in the ring, that won’t even tag. End of the match was better than the whole match as it saw Jimmy getting pissed at Rems for dissing him, so he blind tagged back in… and Rems smacked him with a roaring elbow… and left. Seriously, it was fucking hilarious! Rems just stared at him for a sec and washed his face off with an elbow, fucking brilliant! Loz and Yazoo stood there confused but then Loz shrugged and gave Jimmy his package piledriver for the pin.
3. In the 2nd SEWA vs. WIW, Team WIW (called the New Age) d. Team AVALANCHE via pin (Kudoh driver on Wedge). Better than the last one. They did some high flying with Xzibit and Wedge, RKO and Biggs got some technique exchange time, and Brown and Barret got some giant stare-down and brawl time. Highlight of the match was Xzibit springboard shooting star pressing on all five people on the outside. End of the match saw Xzibit destroying Wedge with a Kudoh driver (or whatever he calles it).
4. Genesis d. Kadaj via pin (Apocalypse). Genesis needed to rebound after his loss and handpicked his first after-title opponent – Sephiroth’s own pupil Kadaj. Great match, they exchanged some very stiff blows, even repeated some of the action in the Genesis-Sephiroth matches. Kadaj got close to winning when he locked in the Incompletion, but Genesis powered out and fucked his world with a brutal Apocalypse. Best macth so far.
5. Rinoa H © d. Garnet via pin (curb stomp) to retain. Rinoa continues to rule the women’s division with her SeeD Squad F followers, who were all around the ring. Garnet looks awesome, even if she is as small as Portia f’n Perez. She got a good amount of offence, even got close to a win, but Edea tripped her from the outside and Rinoa killed her with DAT HEEL MOVE, the curb stomp.
6. Kuja & Garland © d. Zack & Angeal via pin (Flare Star press). Great match, but not as good as Genesis-Kadaj. It was kinda old school, but it totally worked and the crowd was into it. I actually thought that Z&A are gonna win, but the writers were like, “fuck that, not tonight”. End of the match saw Garland kill Zack with a powerbomb and Kuja (who, btw, is F’N AWESOME) finished him off with his SSP variation.
7. Final SEWA vs WIW match: Team WIW d. Team SEWA via WTF? Ending aside, the match was very, very good. The eliminations started early, as Y2Joro (isn’t that a password or something?) pinned Braska with a ligerbomb after landing NINE FUCKING CONSECUTIVE POWERBOMBS!!! HOLY SHIT, I think Braska’s back will never be the same! ALEXANDER evened up the teams, pinning Dwayne Johnson after a butterfly piledriver. This was interesting, as Johnson was going for a move, but his own partner Ledg tripped him to set up the DJ on DJ (heh). Auron continued eliminatind WIW members, pinning Password-name-guy with his tornado bomb. Loop gave his team a win, submitting IFRIT via sharpshooter. Next gone was ALEXANDER, who got killed with a lariat by BG Lion after taking A FUCKING MILLION CHOPS in the corner. Geez, his chest was bloody red, Lion shoud take it easy… But then came motherfucking JECHT, who ouwrestled Lion and gave him the Sublimely Magnificent Jecht Shot Mark III ! Awesome name for an awesome springboard Pele kick. Loop did another shaprshooter, this time on Auron and made him tap out, too. Bye, Auron…

Fuck, 2 on 1 left. Loop takes on Jecht in the best moments of the match as they both kept trying to hit their respective finishers and countered the opponent’s. Ledg (who STILL hasn’t stepped in the ring for even a second!) distracted his own partner, allowing Jecht to nail him with an another Sublimely Magnificent Jecht Shot Mark III ! I love saying and writing that. Loop gets pinned… and while the ref helps him get out of the ring, Ledg gets a free low blow at Jecht’s crotch, kicks his fucking head off with a soccer kick and delivers a jumping ace crusher for the win in, like, 10 seconds. He got tons of heat, so I guess that was a good move, but come on, who wants to see a match end like this? Well, WIW wins, so I guess there will be another visit to settle the score. Can’t wait.
8. Sephiroth © d. Cloud Strife via pin (Havoc Wing) to retain. Another great match by the old nemesises… es… whatever… but it still couldn’t beat the Genesis-Kadaj match. Sephiroth defended his long awaited title successfully and pinned Clould after lots of brawling and an awesome finishing sequence, ending with the Havoc Wing on Strife.
See ya next time!
